Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria and the most populous urban area in Africa, a vibrant megacity on the Atlantic coast in southwestern Nigeria.
The city serves as the country’s economic powerhouse despite no longer being the national capital after it was moved to Abuja.

As of late 2025, the city’s population is estimated between 17 and 21 million, making it one of the world’s fastest-growing cities.
It spans islands including Lagos Island and Victoria Island which is connected by bridges to the mainland, with lagoons, beaches, and a humid tropical climate.
With a huge population like this, you sure know a lot of activities will be going on in different parts of the city.
The city’s energy is matched by its chaotic and notorious traffic, bustling street markets, and informal economies keep it alive but strained.
