While gold is the backbone, the town is a bustling urban center with a population of approximately 104,000.
It boast of schools including secondary and tertiary level of education at the highest level across different locations.
As a result, teachers are posted from all parts of the country to obuasi to teach at different educational levels.

One Secondary School teacher however, arrived in Obuasi on a different mission despite being posted to teach SHS students.
The teacher decided to engage one of his students in a different lesson and it looked clearly the student herself was waiting for that opportunity.
