ACUVUE runs rebate programs in Canada periodically.

These let you claim prepaid cards or cheques if you buy certain ACUVUE contact lenses within specified periods.

To successfully get your rebate, you must follow the rules: keep the right documents, use the correct offer code, and submit by the deadline.

What rebate offers are available in Canada for ACUVUE in 2025?

There is a New Wearer Rebate valid from January 1 to June 30, 2025, using offer code H1NWR2025. This rebate is for people who are “new wearers” of ACUVUE brands (i.e., switching from another brand or getting ACUVUE for first time).

There is also a Limited Offer Rebate for various ACUVUE 1-Day lines, 2-Week lines, etc., valid also from January 1 to June 30, 2025, using code H1LIMIT25.

For general “National” or “Family/Re-usable Family” ACUVUE rebates, clinics and promos list codes like H1NATIONAL25 for the same period. These rebate promos may cover annual supplies or partial supplies based on boxes purchased.

Who is eligible for the ACUVUE rebate?

To qualify:

You must be a Canadian resident and purchase from a participating retailer or eye care professional in-store or in-office. Online retailer purchases often do not qualify unless explicitly stated.

The purchase must be made during the rebate period tied to the offer code (for example, Q1 or H1 offers valid January-June).

You must buy a minimum supply (number of boxes) of eligible ACUVUE brand lenses. For example, for “Annual Supply” rebates the required number of boxes is higher; for 3- or 6-month supply rebates, fewer boxes are needed.

If you are applying under the “New Wearer” code, you shouldn’t have used that ACUVUE brand before (or must meet “new wearer” criteria as defined).

What documents and materials are required to submit a claim?

You will need:

Original purchase invoice/receipt showing the date of purchase, retailer name, product names, and number of boxes purchased.

Two (2) box flaps from each eye’s box of contact lenses you purchased. These box flaps must show brand, model, and prescription details etc.

The relevant offer code (for example, H1NWR2025, H1LIMIT25, H1NATIONAL25) is printed on the rebate form or given in the rebate flyer.

Your personal details (name, address, email) as required. A valid email is needed to get status updates on your claim.

How to submit your ACUVUE rebate claim online

Here are the steps for the online submission method:

Visit the ACUVUE Canada rebate portal at AcuvueCanadaRebates.ca.

Enter the offer code from your rebate flyer or form.

Upload images of your invoice/receipt and both box flaps for each eye (if required). Ensure the images are clear and legible.

Fill in details about the product(s) purchased: model, size, quantity.

Include your personal information (name, address, email).

Choose how you want to receive the rebate: Virtual Prepaid Mastercard (by email), Visa Prepaid Card (by mail), or cheque (mailed).

Submit everything before the claim submission deadline.

What are the deadlines?

For the H1 (first half) offers (e.g. H1NWR2025, H1LIMIT25), purchases must be made between January 1 and June 30, 2025.

The claim submission deadline for these offers is July 31, 2025. All required documentation must be received by this date.

How will you receive your rebate and how long will it take?

After you submit the claim and it is approved, you can receive the rebate via a Virtual Prepaid Mastercard (fastest, via email), a Visa Prepaid Card (mailed), or by cheque (mailed).

The virtual option is generally the fastest way.

Pirelli offers seasonal rebates and promotional programs in Canada in 2025.

If you plan to buy four Pirelli tires during a promotion window, you may qualify for cash back, CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) Dollars, or other rewards.

The rules include eligible tire models, purchase windows, required documentation, and deadlines.

What rebate promotions does Pirelli have in Canada in 2025?

As of 2025, Pirelli’s major rebate programs include:

A Spring Rebate valid from March 15 to May 18, 2025, for in-store purchases of 4 Pirelli tires. You can choose between CAA Dollars or a Pirelli cheque. Claim submission ends by June 18, 2025.

A Fall/Winter Rebate valid from October 1 to November 30, 2025, offering up to $100 rebate or 120 CAA Dollars (for certain larger rim sizes) and lower rebate amounts for smaller sizes.

Smaller offers such as in March 2025: e.g., purchasing P7 AS PLUS 3 tires in 18-inch or above rim sizes from participating dealers between March 17-31, 2025, to receive a $100 Pirelli Mastercard® Prepaid Card rebate.

Which Pirelli tires qualify and what are model/rim-size restrictions?

Eligible models tend to be specific Pirelli tire lines. Some examples:

For the Spring 2025 promo: models like P ZERO, Scorpion, Cinturato, and many variants (P ZERO ALL SEASON, P ZERO ASIM, SCORPION ALL TERRAIN PLUS, etc.).

For the Winter/Fall 2025 rebate: eligible winter and all-season winter-approved lines such as Cinturato WeatherActive, P Zero Winter, Scorpion All Terrain Plus, Scorpion Winter, Winter Sottozero, WeatherActive family, Ice Zero series etc.

Rim size matters: larger wheel sizes (e.g. 19-inch or above) often get the highest rebate value; smaller sizes (18-inch and below) usually get a lower rebate.

Who is eligible to claim the rebate?

Key eligibility conditions include:

Must be a consumer/individual (not for business or resale).

Must reside in Canada. Non-resident or purchases outside Canada are not eligible.

Must purchase from participating Pirelli dealers. Retailers like Costco and Canadian Tire are explicitly excluded from many offers.

If choosing the CAA Dollars option (when available), the purchaser must have a valid CAA/BCAA/AMA membership at the time of purchase.

What proof and documentation do you need for your claim?

To submit a valid rebate claim, you must have:

The invoice or receipt showing date of purchase, retailer, tire model(s), quantity (must be four tires of the same model for many offers), and rim size.

If using the CAA membership rebate option, your CAA membership number is included.

A completed rebate form (mail-in or online) as per the terms. The form must include full contact info, dealer name, etc.

How do you claim the Pirelli rebate (online or by mail)?

Here are the typical steps:

Buy four eligible Pirelli tires from a participating dealer during the promotion period.

Keep your receipt. Ensure it indicates exactly which model tires you bought.

Decide whether you want the CAA Dollars rebate or the Pirelli rebate cheque/prepaid card when that option is available. Note: you can only choose one, not split.

Submit the rebate form (mail-in or online) before the claim deadline. Ensure all fields are completed and documentation attached.

Allow time for processing (often up to 10 weeks). After submission, you may track your claim status on the rebate portal.

What deadlines and promotion periods should you watch?

Deadlines are critical. Some of the key periods in 2025:

Spring 2025 Promo: Purchase between March 15 – May 18, with claim submissions by June 18, 2025.

Fall/Winter 2025 Promo: Purchase window October 1 – November 30, 2025; rebate levels differ based on tire size.

Special March rebate for P7 AS PLUS 3: March 17 – 31, 2025; claims must be posted or submitted online by May 1, 2025.

If you miss the purchase period or the claim deadline, you generally lose eligibility.

What are the typical rebate values, and how much can you save?

Rebate amounts vary by tire model and rim size. Examples:

Up to $100 or 120 CAA Dollars for larger rim sizes (often 19-inch and above) on eligible winter or performance-winter lines.

Lower rebate for smaller rim sizes (e.g., 18-inch or less) or less premium winter/all-season models (e.g. $70 or 90 CAA Dollars).

Some Spring rebates do not show flat dollar amounts across all sizes — the value depends on the model and promotion type (cheque, card or CAA Dollars).

Pennzoil sometimes runs rebate or reward promotions in Canada, allowing purchasers of eligible motor oils to claim prepaid card rewards or cashback.

In 2025, one of the active offers is a reward via a virtual Mastercard when you buy qualifying quantities of Pennzoil full synthetic oils.

What Pennzoil rebate offer is active in Canada in 2025?

Pennzoil is offering a prepaid virtual Mastercard® reward of up to CAD $30 when you purchase 10 L of eligible Pennzoil full synthetic motor oil.

According to promotional materials, this is the key offer currently advertised in Canadian campaigns.

This campaign is structured as a “get rewarded” promotion: you buy the required volume, then submit your rebate claim via the official Pennzoil Canada promotion channel.

It is important to note that Canadian Tire currently lists that Pennzoil mail-in rebates may be available “later.”

So the $30 Mastercard reward is confirmed in the current 2025 promotions.

Which products and quantities qualify for the rebate?

To be eligible:

You must purchase 10L of qualifying full synthetic Pennzoil motor oil.

The oils must be among the approved product list defined in the promotion (i.e., full synthetic grades, not conventional blends).

The purchase must be from authorized Canadian retailers participating in the promotion.

Because promotional fine print may restrict eligible SKUs or formulations, always check the detailed terms provided during application.

What documentation will you need to submit your rebate claim?

When submitting your claim, you will typically need:

The sales receipt or invoice showing quantity (litres), product model / SKU, retailer, date, and price.

Proof that the purchase matches the qualifying products and volume (for instance, the product codes).

Your personal contact information (name, address, email) so the issuing agent can send you the virtual Mastercard.

Any claim form or digital form required by Pennzoil Canada’s rebate portal.

Make sure your documentation is legible and includes all required details to avoid denial.

How do you submit your Pennzoil rebate claim online?

Here is a typical process:

Confirm the promotion details: Visit the official Pennzoil Canada site or the “Get Rewarded” promotion page to verify current offers and approved products.

Buy the qualifying amount of full synthetic Pennzoil oil (10 L total) at a participating retailer.

Scan or photograph your receipt and any required product labels.

Access the rebate submission portal (often via pennzoil.ca or the dedicated promotion URL). Use the “submit claim” section.

Fill in the claim form, upload proof documents, and provide your contact details.

Choose the delivery method for the virtual Mastercard (usually via email).

Submit the claim before the deadline specified in the promotional terms.

Because Pennzoil’s official U.S. site shows many offers but not Canadian ones directly, be sure to use the Canadian version or dedicated Canadian promotion links.

When are the deadlines to submit your claim?

The exact deadlines vary by campaign, but for the 2025 “get rewarded” promotion, you need to submit your claim within the timeframe specified in the promotional rules.

Be sure to check:

The purchase window (when purchases must occur),

The claim submission deadline (often some weeks or months after purchase),

That the claim is submitted before the deadline in a complete and eligible form.

Missing the deadline or submitting incomplete documents typically leads to claim denial.

How and when will you receive the rebate reward?

Once your claim is approved:

You will receive a virtual Mastercard® prepaid reward, delivered via email.

The timing for receipt can vary depending on how quickly the claims processor handles the verification. The promotion states “virtual Mastercard,” which suggests digital issuance.

Make sure to check your spam/junk folders, as the reward email may land there.

What are common pitfalls or tips to increase chances of success?

Wrong products: Only specific full synthetic Pennzoil oils are eligible. If you buy conventional or blend formulations, those may be excluded.

Incomplete receipts: Missing information like SKU, retailer, or litres can cause rejection.

Multiple claims per household: Some promotions limit one claim per household or per voucher; submitting multiple could be denied.

Not verifying promotional rules: Always read the fine print before purchase — sometimes certain retailers or regions are excluded.

Late submissions: Even one day past the deadline often means the claim is void.

Disease of promotional uncertainty: Because Pennzoil Canada currently shows in Canadian Tire’s rebate page “check back later” for Pennzoil rebates, future offers may change, so act quickly.

Mobil 1 often runs rebate or cashback promos in Canada when you buy certain Mobil 1 motor oil products.

To get the rebate online, you must follow specific steps, meet deadlines, and submit proper proof.

What Mobil 1 promotions are active in Canada now?

One of the current offers in Canada (Summer 2025) is a $5 rebate cheque when you purchase a 4.73 L jug of eligible Mobil 1 motor oil, or get a Mobil 1 oil change at a Mobil 1 oil change facility.

The promotion runs from June 15 to August 13, 2025.

Only certain products are eligible. For example, the 4.73 L jug size (and certain Mobil 1 motor oil formulations listed in the terms).

Who qualifies for the Mobil 1 rebate?

You qualify if:

You buy eligible Mobil 1 motor oil (a 4.73 L jug or oil change service) during the promotion period in a participating location in Canada.

The product and store must be among those specified in the rebate terms. For example, certain oil change shops or retail stores that carry Mobil 1 must be participating.

Only one rebate per household is allowed for this particular offer.

What proof and documentation do you need?

To successfully apply, you need:

The original receipt showing purchase date, store name, product(s) bought, size (4.73 L jug or equivalent) clearly visible, amount paid, etc.

If you got an oil change service instead of buying oil, then the receipt from that service with Mobil 1 product/service listed.

A digital image or scan of the receipt that is legible. Blurred or unreadable receipts are often rejected.

How to submit your claim online

Here are the steps:

Buy the product or service during the promo period (June 15 to August 13, 2025) from a participating store or Mobil 1 oil change location.

Capture a clear photo or scan of your receipt. Make sure it shows all required information.

Go to the Mobil 1 promotion website specified in the terms. The 2025 offer uses mobil1promotion2025.ca for submissions.

Fill out the online rebate form with your personal details (name, address, etc.), upload the receipt, select how you want to receive the rebate (cheque in mail).

What is the deadline to submit the rebate form?

The receipt must be from a purchase during the promotion period: June 15 to August 13, 2025.

Online submissions have a deadline: before 11:59:59 p.m. Central Time on August 13, 2025.

How will you receive your rebate?

If your claim is approved:

In this specific promotion, the rebate is issued in the form of a cheque by mail.

The amount is CAD $5 per eligible purchase under these terms.

What common pitfalls should you avoid?

Unreadable receipts — if any required info is missing (product name, store, date, purchase amount), the claim may be rejected.

Wrong products — only specific Mobil 1 formulations are eligible. Others may be excluded. Always check that the product is listed in the promo terms.

Missed deadlines — both the purchase period and the submission deadline must be met.

When Michelin offers seasonal rebates in Canada, you can save money by claiming rewards after buying eligible tires.

In 2025, the key offer is a $70 rebate via a Michelin Prepaid Mastercard®.

You must follow the correct steps and submit before the deadlines.

What is the current Michelin rebate offer in Canada for 2025?

Michelin’s Spring 2025 promotion offers CAD $70 via a Michelin Prepaid Mastercard® when you buy four (4) new Michelin passenger or light truck tires.

The purchase window runs from March 24 to June 20, 2025. Claims (online or mail) must be received by July 20, 2025.

Note: This rebate is not valid at Costco or Canadian Tire.

Which tires and purchases qualify for the rebate?

To qualify:

You must purchase four new Michelin passenger or light truck tires during the promotion period.

The tires must be purchased from authorized, participating Michelin dealers in Canada.

The invoice must clearly list the tire model names, invoice number, date of purchase, and buyer and seller info.

The rebate covers only the tire cost; costs for mounting, balancing, valve stems, taxes, or discounts are excluded from the calculation.

Only one (1) redemption request per set of four tires.

Up to three (3) redemptions per household in the promotion is allowed.

What documentation do you need to submit your claim?

Your claim must include:

A completed rebate form (online or printed).

Detailed invoice copy showing purchase of the four Michelin tires.

Proof of payment (credit card receipt or similar).

Personal information such as name, address, phone number, province, and email (if applicable) as required on the form.

The rebate form asks how you want to receive the prepaid Mastercard (physical via mail or virtual via email).

How do you submit the rebate claim online or by mail?

You have two submission options:

Online claim

Visit Michelin’s promotions and rebates page via michelin.ca.

Fill out the digital rebate form, upload your invoice and proof of payment, and choose your reward delivery method.

Mail-in claim

Print the rebate form from Michelin’s site (or retailer).

Attach the invoice, proof of payment, and your completed form.

Mail to the address:
Michelin Spring 2025 Promotion
611 Wonderland Road North, PMB 371
London, Ontario N6H 5N7

Ensure your mail is postmarked or received by July 20, 2025.

When will you receive your rebate reward?

If you chose the physical prepaid card, allow 4–6 weeks for delivery via mail.

If you selected the virtual prepaid card (via email), it should arrive in 2–3 weeks.

Once your request is submitted, you can check the status via the Michelin Reward Center / Fulfillment Center.

What happens if you miss the deadline or have issues?

Late submissions (received after July 20, 2025) will not be honored.

Claims submitted online or by mail must comply fully with the terms. Missing or incomplete documents may lead to rejection.

Rebate offers are void where prohibited.

If you have questions or wish to check status, contact Michelin support at 1-833-202-0804 (Monday to Sunday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. EST).

Is the 2025 Michelin rebate always available or seasonal?

It is a seasonal promotion, not a year-round guarantee. The Spring 2025 offer has specific start and end dates.

Michelin may run other rebates later in the year or in other seasons.

Consumers should monitor the Michelin Canada promotions page for new offers.

Canada’s federal government offers incentives to help individuals and businesses buy or lease zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).

These programs aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support a shift to electric transportation. As of early 2025 the landscape has changed.

What is the Canada federal rebate for zero-emission vehicles?

The federal incentive is known as the iZEV Program (Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles).

It provides a point-of-sale rebate for eligible light-duty ZEVs like battery electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and plug-in hybrids.

There is also a related program called iMHZEV for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

For businesses, there is also an enhanced first-year capital cost allowance for eligible ZEVs.

This is a tax provision that lets them deduct more in the year the vehicle is put into service.

Which vehicles were eligible under iZEV and what were the rebate amounts?

Under iZEV, there were two levels of rebate for light-duty ZEVs:

Battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and longer-range plug-in hybrids (those with an electric range of at least 50 km) were eligible for up to CAD $5,000.

Shorter-range plug-in hybrids (electric range under 50 km) could get up to CAD $2,500.

There were rules on MSRP (base model price) depending on vehicle type (passenger car vs SUV/pickup/truck, etc.).

For example, base model MSRP is less than $55,000 for passenger cars, and higher trim levels are up to $65,000 in many cases.

For light trucks, SUVs, vans, etc base MSRP under $60,000, with trims up to $70,000.

There were also requirements around safety standards, newness of vehicle (first registration), etc.

What is the status of the federal rebate as of 2025?

The federal iZEV Program has paused. Funds have been fully committed.

The pause took effect January 12, 2025. At that point, no more incentives for light-duty ZEVs could be claimed because the allocated funds were exhausted.

The iMHZEV Program (for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles) continues, with funding available until March 31, 2026, subject to availability.

Who was eligible for the rebate before the pause?

Eligibility included:

Buying or leasing a new ZEV (or demonstrator under certain odometer thresholds) that meets federal safety and road-use standards.

Vehicle must be first registered. Used vehicles are not eligible under iZEV.

MSRP caps depending on type of vehicle: as noted, passenger cars vs trucks/SUVs, etc.

Vehicles made in Canada or in a country with which Canada has a free trade agreement, or in transit or already in Canada if from countries without such an agreement, as of October 1, 2024.

What other federal incentives exist besides iZEV?

Besides the iZEV purchase/lease rebate, federal support includes:

iMHZEV: incentives for medium- and heavy-duty zero emission vehicles for businesses and organizations.

Enhanced capital cost allowance (CCA): businesses can claim a larger immediate tax deduction for eligible ZEVs.

What to do if you applied or ordered before the pause?

If your dealership submitted an eligible application before the pause of the program (i.e., before funds were fully committed), the rebate can still be honoured, even if delivery happens later.

What might the future hold and what should buyers watch for?

Transport Canada has not committed to renewing or increasing funding for the iZEV light-duty rebate program. The pause may continue until new budget allocations are approved.

Watch for updates to vehicle eligibility criteria, including trade agreements, MSRP caps, and electric range definitions.

For medium and heavy-duty vehicles, the iMHZEV program is still active, so businesses needing large trucks, vans, or fleets may still benefit.

Many homeowners in British Columbia want to upgrade to high-efficiency tankless water heaters.

These systems save energy, reduce emissions, and can lower utility bills.

BC offers several rebate programs in 2025 to help with the cost. Each has its own rules.

What rebate programs are available for tankless water heaters in BC in 2025?

BC has a couple of programs that provide rebates or incentives for tankless water heaters:

FortisBC Natural Gas Water Heater Rebates for income-qualified households: Up to CAD $3,000 for condensing tankless natural gas water heaters.

Appliance Maintenance Rebate (FortisBC / BC Furnace): If you service a tankless water heater, you may get a rebate (about CAD $50) under the appliance maintenance program.

There is also a “Two-Upgrade Bonus” if you combine the tankless heater upgrade with another eligible Home Renovation Rebate upgrade.

Who qualifies for the tankless water heater rebate?

To be eligible under the FortisBC income-qualified natural gas water heater rebate:

You must live in BC, in your primary residence.

The home must be your own (homeowner) with one active natural gas account.

The house must be at least 10 years old, less than 3,500 square feet, and be a single-family home, duplex, triplex, row/townhouse, or permanently sited manufactured home.

Your combined household income must be below certain limits depending on household size. You must show proof of income.

You must replace an existing water heater.

Which tankless heater models qualify?

Qualifying models are typically condensing tankless natural gas water heaters that meet ENERGY STAR or equivalent high-efficiency standards.

The models must be on the eligible product list defined by the rebate program.

What is the rebate amount?

Up to CAD $3,000 for a condensing tankless natural gas water heater.

If you do another eligible home renovation upgrade at the same time, you may also receive a bonus (e.g., a “Two-Upgrade Bonus”).

What deadlines and timing rules apply?

The application must be submitted within 12 months of the installation/invoice date.

Use a licensed, certified contractor (Technical Safety BC licensed gas fitter) for your installation.

Be sure to have all necessary proof (invoice, model number, proof of income) ready.

How do you apply step by step?

Here’s a typical process to follow:

Check eligibility: Confirm your home and income qualify. Use FortisBC’s eligibility tool if available.

Select a qualifying model: Choose a condensing tankless natural gas water heater that is on the program’s qualified product list.

Hire a licensed contractor: The installation must be done by a Technical Safety BC licensed gas fitter.

Install the heater: Replace your old water heater. Obtain a detailed invoice recording model, costs, date, contractor license, etc.

Submit rebate application: Within one year of invoice date, fill out FortisBC’s rebate application form, include proof of income, invoice, and details of the installation.

What else should you know before applying?

Homes larger than 3,500 sq ft are not eligible under this income-qualified program.

The rebate is only for replacing an existing water heater. If you don’t have an old heater, or you’re installing in new construction, the rules may differ or you may not qualify.

Make sure the contractor is licensed and the product is approved ahead of time. If the product is not on the list or the contractor is not certified, the rebate may be denied.

Keep all documentation. Missing paperwork delays or disqualifies applications.

In 2025, Canada’s electric vehicle (EV) rebate landscape is changing quickly.

Federal rebates under the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) program have been paused.

Provincial EV incentives vary widely. Some provinces maintain strong rebate programs; others have ended or paused them.

If you are considering an EV purchase, knowing what is available and when matters.

What happened to Canada’s federal EV rebate program in 2025?

The federal iZEV rebate program, which offered up to CAD $5,000 for eligible battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, has been paused.

As of January 2025 (specifically January 13), the federal rebates are no longer being offered because the allocated funds have been fully committed.

Are there still provincial EV rebates in effect in 2025?

Yes. Even though the federal iZEV rebate is paused, many provinces still provide EV rebates or incentives.

Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador are among the regions with active programs.

Some provinces paused or adjusted their programs; others ended theirs.

What amounts and eligibility criteria do provinces offer for EV rebates?

Here are some examples of provincial rebate levels and requirements:

Quebec (Roulez Vert): Offers up to CAD $4,000 for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and up to CAD $2,000 for plug-in hybrids. Used fully electric cars may get up to CAD $2,000, and electric motorcycles up to CAD $1,000.

New Brunswick: The Plug-In NB program gives up to $5,000 for new BEVs, and lower amounts for PHEVs and used EVs.

Prince Edward Island (PEI): Up to $5,750 for new and used BEVs, and $3,250 for PHEVs.

Newfoundland and Labrador: Up to $2,500 for new BEVs, $1,500 for new PHEVs. Program ends March 15, 2025.

British Columbia: The CleanBC Go Electric rebate was paused as of May 15, 2025. Before the pause, BEVs could get up to $4,000; PHEVs could get lower amounts. Eligibility included income thresholds.

Which provinces do not currently offer EV rebates?

Some provinces have no active rebate programs (for now). As of mid-2025:

Alberta has no provincial EV rebates.

Ontario likewise does not offer a provincial rebate program.

Saskatchewan also has no current provincial rebates.

What criteria do buyers need to meet for provincial rebates?

Requirements differ by province but commonly include:

Vehicle must be new or used, depending on province, often with age or model-year restrictions.

The vehicle’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) must not exceed a certain cap. For example, many provinces follow the $70,000 cap used in earlier iZEV-aligned criteria.

Eligibility for battery capacity or electric range (especially for plug-in hybrids) is also typical.

Income thresholds may apply (e.g. in B.C. full rebate for those under a certain income, reduced for higher incomes).

Can used EVs and scrappage incentives still qualify?

Yes in some provinces. Québec, New Brunswick, and PEI, among them, include rebates for used BEVs and sometimes used PHEVs.

Scrappage or trade-in of old combustion engine vehicles can sometimes earn additional bonus amounts.

When will programs change or end, and what to watch for?

The federal rebate program (iZEV) was supposed to run until March 31, 2025, but funds ran out earlier, so it ended sooner.

Québec plans to phase out its rebate program through 2027. Its maximum amounts will drop over time.

Provinces that have paused their programs (like B.C.) may revise eligibility or rebate amounts when they review.

Always check provincial government websites for updates, since announcements are happening frequently.

In 2024, the Canadian federal government launched the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to help reduce barriers to dental care.

In 2025, the program will expand to include more Canadians.

This article walks you through who qualifies, what dental services are covered, how to apply, and key things to watch out for.

What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal program designed to help Canadians without dental insurance afford necessary oral health care.

It reimburses a portion of eligible dental care costs for qualifying individuals.

The program officially launched on November 1, 2024.

In 2025, the CDCP is being expanded to include all eligible Canadians aged 18 to 64 who meet income and insurance criteria.

Who qualifies for the CDCP in 2025?

To be eligible for the CDCP in 2025, you must meet all of these criteria:

No access to dental insurance
You must not have dental coverage through employment, pension plans, student health plans, or a group plan provided by someone else.

Adjusted family net income under $90,000
Your family’s income must fall below $90,000 after adjustments.

You (and your spouse / common-law partner, if applicable) must have filed tax returns
The government uses your tax returns to assess your income and eligibility.

Canadian resident for tax purposes
You must be a resident in Canada for tax purposes.

Also note:

If you already have public service dental benefits under the Public Service Dental Care Plan (PSDCP), you aren’t eligible for the CDCP.

Individuals who retired and opted out of pension benefits before December 11, 2023, may qualify under special rules.

In May 2025, CDCP opened applications by age groups so that by mid-year, all 18-64 year-old Canadians meeting the criteria became eligible.

What dental services are covered under the CDCP?

The CDCP covers a wide range of oral health care services, subject to limits, provider participation, and preauthorization rules.

Some key coverage areas include:

Diagnostic and preventive services (e.g., exams, x-rays)

Restorative treatments (fillings, crowns)

Endodontic, periodontal, oral surgery when medically necessary

Dentures and prosthodontic services within guidelines

Certain orthodontic services may be covered starting in 2025 (for medically necessary cases) via preauthorization.

Importantly, the CDCP does not cover cosmetic procedures or services beyond the fee grid and plan limitations.

Any fees above CDCP’s approved cost must be paid by the patient.

Also, CDCP uses fee grids and frequency limits; for some treatments, preauthorization is required before service.

How much will CDCP pay / what co-payment is required?

How much you get depends on your adjusted family net income:

If your income is less than or equal to $70,000, CDCP may cover up to 100% of eligible costs under the fee grid.

If your income is between $70,000 and $79,999, CDCP covers 60%, and you pay 40%.

If income is between $80,000 and $89,999, CDCP covers 40%, and you pay 60%.

If you are outside coverage or your dentist’s fee exceeds the CDCP amount for that procedure, you pay the difference.

How to apply for the CDCP in 2025

Use your My Service Canada Account (MSCA)
Log in or create your MSCA. In the dashboard, find the Canadian Dental Care Plan section.
Click “Apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.”

Provide required information
You’ll need your SIN, proof of residence, and information to confirm you don’t have dental insurance and your family income.
If you can’t use the online tool, you can apply by phone or through Service Canada centres.

Renew every year
Coverage runs by benefit year. You must renew annually to maintain eligibility. If renewal is missed and your coverage lapses, services during the gap will not be covered retroactively.

Wait for approval
Once your application is approved, your coverage start date will be set and your enrolment confirmed. Providers may check your coverage before providing service.

Confirm coverage before treatment
Ask your dental provider to verify CDCP coverage before starting treatment. The provider should submit claims to CDCP directly, where applicable.

Contact for support
For questions or help, call the CDCP contact centre at 1-833-537-4342 (TTY: 1-833-677-6262).

How dental costs still interact with CRA rules

Even if you are not eligible for CDCP, or for costs above its coverage, you may claim dental expenses as part of your Medical Expense Tax Credit (METC) under CRA rules.

Eligible dental services, when paid out of pocket and not reimbursed, can be included in your medical expense claims on your T1 return (line 33099 or 33199), after subtracting the lesser of 3% of net income or a fixed amount.

If you miss your tax deadline or underpay your balance owing, the CRA may charge penalties and interest.

Calculating how much those extra costs will be can help you budget and decide whether to request relief.

This article explains how CRA penalties and interest work, how you can estimate them (including sample calculations), and how to use online tools as rough calculators.

How CRA charges interest on late or unpaid balances

When you owe taxes or remittances and do not pay them by the due date, CRA starts charging interest from the day after the due date.

Interest is compounded daily.

CRA sets the interest rate every quarter, based on a prescribed rate.

This interest applies to the unpaid tax, unpaid remittances (e.g. instalments), and even unpaid penalties themselves.

If you overpaid (CRA owes you a refund), CRA may pay you interest, but it is usually lower and only until the refund is issued or applied.

How CRA calculates penalties for filing late

In addition to interest, CRA may impose a late-filing penalty when you file your return after the deadline and you owe tax.

Here’s how the penalty works:

Base penalty is 5% of your balance owing for the tax year.

Then CRA adds 1% per full month the return is late, up to 12 months.

So if you’re 6 months late, that penalty is 5% + 6% = 11% of your balance owing, so long as 11% does not exceed the 12-month cap.

In more aggressive cases (e.g., repeat late filers), the penalty may be 10% base plus 2% per month, up to 20 months.

Note: The late-filing penalty is only charged if you have a balance owing; if CRA owes you a refund, you typically won’t get penalised for late filing.

How to estimate your penalty + interest: step-by-step

Here’s a process you can follow to approximate what you might owe, combining penalty and interest:

Determine your balance owing (the tax you still owe after credits, etc.).

Calculate the late-filing penalty:

Multiply the owed amount × 5% = base penalty

Add owed × (1% × number of full months late), up to 12 months

Calculate interest on the unpaid amount + penalty:

Use the daily compounding formula (or approximate with simple interest) from the day after the filing due date until your payment date

Use the effective quarterly CRA interest rate for that period

Add them together to get an estimate of total extra cost

Sample estimation

Suppose:

Tax owed = $5,000

You file 4 months late

CRA interest rate in that quarter = 6% annually (0.06)

You pay on the date you file

Late-filing penalty =
5% of $5,000 = $250
Plus 1% × 4 months = 4% of $5,000 = $200
Total penalty = $450

Interest ― approximate (not daily compounding for simplicity):
Amount on which interest accrues = $5,000 + $450 = $5,450
Interest for 4 months at 6% = $5,450 × 0.06 × (4/12) = $109

So rough estimate of additional cost = $450 + $109 = $559

In reality, daily compounding means actual interest would be slightly higher.

Instalment interest and penalties

If you’re required to pay tax by instalments and you pay late or less than required, CRA may charge:

Instalment interest, compounded daily, based on the prescribed rate.

A penalty if the instalment interest for the year exceeds $1,000. CRA uses a formula comparing “interest if no instalments were made” versus “actual interest” and picks the higher or checks a flat $1,000.

The instalment penalty calculation is more complex. But for many taxpayers, interest is the bigger component.

Using online calculators as a guide

You can use third-party tools as rough estimators, but always cross-check your results with CRA rules.

CoPilot Tax Penalty Calculator lets you enter the owed amount, filing date, and payment date to estimate penalties and interest.

CRACalculators.ca CRA Interest Calculator lets you input the amount due, due date, and payment date to estimate interest.

Streamline Accounting’s CRA Interest Calculator allows a similar input of owed amount, interest rate, and days overdue.

These are for estimation only and not official CRA tools.

When CRA may waive or cancel penalties/interest

CRA may cancel or waive penalties or interest under taxpayer relief provisions if you can show you couldn’t meet obligations due to circumstances beyond your control (serious illness, natural disaster, etc.).

Requests typically must relate to a period within the last 10 years.

You can use CRA’s My Account or Represent a Client to request relief or a statement of interest.
