When will programs change or end, and what to watch for?

1. The federal rebate program (iZEV) was supposed to run until March 31, 2025, but funds ran out earlier, so it ended sooner.

In 2025, RBC is transitioning many clients into its newer Value Program, but aspects of the MultiProduct Rebate remain for legacy accounts. 

What exactly is the RBC MultiProduct Rebate?

The MultiProduct Rebate allows clients who hold an RBC personal deposit (chequing) account plus at least two other eligible RBC product categories (such as a credit card, investment, mortgage, or small business product) to receive a monthly rebate on that account’s fee.

Depending on the account type and number of products held, the rebate can reduce your fee partially or even fully.

However, for accounts opened after RBC introduced the Value Program, new clients are not eligible for the MultiProduct Rebate.

Which RBC accounts qualify for the MultiProduct Rebate?

Only certain RBC chequing / personal deposit accounts are eligible. Common qualifying accounts include:

1. RBC No Limit Banking
2. RBC Signature No Limit Banking
3. RBC VIP Banking

To continue receiving the rebate, the associated products must remain active under RBC’s criteria:

1. For a credit card to be active, you need at least one transaction in the last 90 days or an annual fee paid on the card.
2. For an investment product: maintain a minimum balance (e.g. $500) or have recurring contributions.
3. If any of the products become inactive, you may lose the rebate for your chequing account.

How much rebate can you get?

The amount depends on your chequing account type and how many eligible product categories you hold. Examples:

• Some accounts may get a 100 % rebate of the monthly fee if they hold three product categories.
• Others may receive a partial rebate (e.g., 30 % or 35 % off) if certain criteria are met.

RBC displays the rebate amount directly on your monthly statement if you qualify.

What is happening now in 2025 with the Value Program and MultiProduct Rebate?

RBC has introduced the Value Program to replace or override the MultiProduct Rebate for new accounts.

1. If you open an account after the Value Program is active, you will be eligible only for the Value Program benefits—not the MultiProduct Rebate.
2. Existing accounts with MultiProduct Rebate can continue under those terms, or be opted into the Value Program—but opting out of MultiProduct is permanent.
3. RBC’s “Important Updates” documents note which services and fee changes affecting chequing accounts will change as of August 1, 2025.

How to check if you qualify and how to enroll or maintain the rebate

1. Check your account type — see if your chequing account supports MultiProduct Rebate via RBC’s disclosures.
2. Confirm you hold at least two eligible product categories (credit card, mortgage, investment, etc.) and that they are “active.”
3. Enroll your chequing account in the rebate program (if not already). RBC’s documents say eligible accounts must be enrolled in the program to receive benefits.
4. Maintain qualifying criteria each month: keep your credit card active, retain required balances or contributions on investments, etc.
5. Watch your account statement — if the rebate is applied, it should show as a fee credit. If not, contact RBC support.
6. If you open new RBC accounts now (after the Value Program launch), you likely cannot use MultiProduct Rebate and must rely on the Value Program instead.
