Note: CCB is typically monthly and may move to nearest business day. GST/HST is quarterly. US federal CTC is usually claimed on annual tax returns — use this tool to track state or one-off payments.
How to Use the Payment Calendar
The Payment Calendar helps you check payment dates for the CRA GST/HST Credit, the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), and the U.S. Child Tax Credit (CTC). Follow these steps to use the tool:
1. Select a Program
- At the top of the calendar, choose one of the following from the dropdown:
- CRA GST/HST Credit – usually paid every three months.
- Canada Child Benefit (CCB) – usually paid monthly.
- U.S. Child Tax Credit (CTC) – claimed at tax time or used to track state advance payments.
2. Choose the Year
- Use the Year selector to view payment schedules for the year you want.
- The calendar updates automatically when you switch years.
3. Navigate by Month
- Use the Previous and Next buttons to move through the months.
- Payment dates will be highlighted on the calendar for the program you selected.
4. Understand the Highlights
- Blue highlight – official payment dates pre-filled from government schedules.
- Yellow highlight – custom dates that you add yourself.
5. Add or Remove Your Own Dates
- Click Add Custom Date, select a program, and pick a date.
- The new date will appear on the calendar in yellow.
- To remove a date, use the “Remove” button next to the entry in the list.
6. Export or Import Dates
- Click Export CSV to download your schedule in a spreadsheet file.
- Use Import CSV to upload saved payment schedules (format:
Program,Date
).
7. Check Notes
- Under the calendar, you’ll find notes explaining how each benefit usually works, including reminders about quarterly vs. monthly payments.
